NHLPA Charity Event

OMG! Gary Bettman and Don Fehr made a peanut butter sandwich! Gary Bettman bought a Red Bull this morning at the local 7-11. WHO CARES! The NHL lockout continues on into what seems like an endless amount of time and negotiations, and let me tell you something, life goes on. In my own opinion, the media has taken a lot of the aspects of the NHL lockout too far. They do not need to write about the same thing over and over because let's face it, it gets old. You do not need to update us on the lockout when there has been absolutely no REAL changes to move forward. The only thing that you as a NHL hockey fan need to know is that there is now a mediator involved in the negotiations, which will hopefully move the process along. No more bickering back and forth and Fehr and Bettman trying to make each other look weak. I challenge you to search for any article on the internet right now that does not talk about hockey and how Bettman is ruining the sport or how we are losing fans. I am not disagreeing with that what so ever. My point is, if nothing spectacular or game changing is stemming from the discussions or " informal lunch meetings" that are taking place, you don't need to cover the story. " Oh we met up with Gary Bettman and he said nothing is new". Oh okay, thanks for the update?

On another note, for you true hockey fans who want to see your favorite NHL players skate even though there is a lockout, you may want to head to Windsor, ON on Dec. 8th. Not only are some of your favorite Red Wings players participating, but even some big names from around the league. Stars like  Jonathan Toews, James Neal, Steve Ott and many more will be playing in the event. According to an article by freep.com, Crosby was asked to play but his insurance is too much money, so he is a no go. The game starts at 6:30PM and is sure to turn some heads. Tickets are as low as $45, and will surely sell fast.

  1. Knowing that the Wings aren't playing this season is very upsetting. What's more upsetting is having to hear about it over and over again!! I don't want to hear one more thing about it unless its good news.

  2. I just wish the lock-out would end due to the players and owners getting over their egos and go back to what actually makes them money the fans in the stand. It would awesome to see the 10 wings and other NFL players in that charity game.

  5. Dude, where's the love on your blog for the pistons? I mean I know they suck, but they're still a detroit sports team.
